Scoring is a post printing process aimed to folding printed products along certain lines for subsequent folding. Unlike folding, scoring is used for products that are made on paper more than 150 g / m2.

Score can be applied to any material, including plastic and all kinds of films. For thin papers, there is no need for this – they are immediately sent to folding.

Score protects the fold from cracking of the ink layer and creates a neater appearance to printed products.

The procedure is an obligatory technological step in the production of covers, postcards, cardboard packaging, envelopes, folders, booklets, magazines, POS-materials. In modern printing houses the scoring is carried out with the help of special equipment that allow you to apply a score line to any kinds of printed products.
