Recently, the news has been full of horrible headlines mentioning a larger amount of people affected by Coronavirus COVID-19 day after day. The number of people affected by it has reached more than 200,00 so far. The new Chinese-born germ affected practically all aspects of our life. The print business world does not stand aside either.
Some time earlier, the FESPA Global Print Expo 2020 organisers stated that despite all the danger that the virus can bring, FESPA 2020 exhibition will take place as planned on March, 24 – 27 in the city of Madrid. Along with other exhibition organisers, including such as European Sign Expo 2020 and Sportswear Pro 2020, the FESPA print show promoters were not willing to change the date as this will inevitably lead to big financial losses. Also, it was said that corresponding caution measures based on World Health Organisation recommendations (WHO) were being taken.
But as every one knows, the situation about the virus isn’t that optimistic as people hoped it would be. The WHO organisation advised not to hold any events which gather large masses of people. The FESPA organisers had no choice but to officially declare the postponement of the Madrid 2020 FESPA event. According to the report, the global print business show will take place some time later in 2020.
After receiving this piece of news, many companies which had intentions of showing their printing equipment during FESPA 2020, immediately reaffirmed that despite the fact that the exposition was postponed, they still wanted to showcase their products. It is a pity that the COVID-19 virus stopped the event from being launched on time, because this year a lot of companies, such as Mimaki, for example, are about to offer some promising software and hardware equipment for printing.
In particular, Japanese Mutoh Europe company is going to announce new UV desktop printers for direct printing – XpertJet 461UF and XpertJet 661UF, plus wide-format XpertJet 1641SR and XpertJet 1682SR printers. Besides, the manufacturers promise to offer brand new Digital Factory UV RIP Mutoh Edition software solution.
Another company which visits FESPA exhibition every year, is called Mimaki. This year they are happy to introduce a new interactive online Mimaki Virtual Print Festival in order to showcase new company’s products and communicate with current and potential customers. The online exhibition from Mimaki starts on March 24. The program list includes a series of group webinars and individual virtual meetings organised by the best representatives from Mimaki. Also, the guests will watch product presentations and will be taken on a virtual FESPA 2020 ‘printing tour’ as well.
It is sad that the FESPA exhibition that had to take place in March this year, is postponed until later times. The print business companies attending the show, gave the FESPA organisers their support. We hope that in spite of all the difficulties the show will still take place this year.
